Exhaustion-induced illness is a bigger problem in the Kpop idol world than most people realise, and it seems that the next star to succumb is 4Minute’s HyunA, who had been busy promoting their latest mini-album.
Her label, Cube Entertainment, released the following statement to keep fans in the loop about her condition: “HyunA collapsed due to a high fever before her activities, so she is in the hospital. It looks like a high fever and dehydration case because of overworking. She’s currently in the hospital and is receiving Intravenous therapy. She will undergo a more detailed check-up, and we’ll get the full results tomorrow. Since her health is the most important, we’re going to have to adjust her schedule.”
I’m sure we all wish HyunA a speedy recovery, and it’s definitely nice to see a label admit that one of their stars might have been working too hard. Hopefully with an adjusted schedule she will be able to stay healthy for her fans, her band, herself and her company in future.
